The habitat bank
A landscape reconnected
Badger Bank Farm sits alongside ancient woodland and close to the River Ure corridor. Across 30 hectares, former arable land will be restored as neutral grassland, mixed scrub, trees and species-rich native hedgerows.
Together, these habitats will expand and buffer the natural features already around the farm, creating more space and stronger connections for wildlife across the Southern Magnesian Limestone landscape.

Former arable fields will be restored as neutral grassland, mixed scrub, trees and species-rich native hedgerows, creating a more varied landscape for wildlife.
Building on what is already there
The new habitats will expand and buffer the ancient woodland beside the farm, while the site’s position close to the River Ure corridor will strengthen connections across the wider landscape.
Monitoring that guides the work
Ecological monitoring will track how the habitats establish and change. The results will guide the work on the ground, allowing management to adapt as nature responds.
